Steven Pamon

Derby | Died in 2009

Remembering the life of 26-year-old Steven Pamon, who died in a road accident in Oakwood, Derby, on 14 November, 2009.

The father-of-one, who worked at Bombardier was expecting his second child with his wife Michelle.

She said: "He was so excited. We had only found out it was going to be a boy weeks before.

"Now he will never get to hold him. He will never get to see him. And even our daughter is too young to really remember him."

Bunches of flowers have been left at the crash site. Derby County FC scarves were also left, in honour of his support for the Rams.

One of the tributes read: "Our captain and our friend. We will miss you on the pitch but more than anything we will miss you in our lives."

Another said: "A great friend, husband, father, son and brother. Gone far too soon but left us all with a lifetime of happy memories."

Family friend Rebecca Barcz, of Oakwood, said of Mr Pamon: "We called him the gentle giant because he was over six feet tall but was the sweetest man you could meet."

Your Memories

I have just discovered the tragic news about Steven on the DET Website.
I am so very sorry to discover about the loss of someone I knew as a fine & polite young lad who must have grown up into a fine young man.
I came to know Steve, his brother & parents through the Mickleover All Stars FC.
Steve joined the club in same year group, the U11's or 12's, as my son Paul.
At an early age Steve stood as a giant of a lad & sporting the club red shirt displayed a quiet but significant presence as a midfield general. The opposition always knew if they had been in a fifty/fifty tackle with Steve. He even used to pop up for the odd goal. Well done Steve!
Steve was a lovely lad who always turned up for training & never gave us an ounce of trouble. All the boys liked & got on with Steve. A true gent.
I finished with the club when Steve was 16, but still saw see his parents about the village & was always keen to hear the news about Steve & his brother.
My condolences got out to Steve's family.

I cant believe i have not only lost my cousin, but also my friend as well. No words can describe the pain we are all feeling since we were told the tragic news. I keep remembering the goood old days we shared, especially at our nans on boxing day, you were such a top bloke who got on with everyone, even my mates too. I remember when we used to play against each other in the Sunday league, and everyone said we would be the battle of the day, but i alwyas got the odd goal against you. Its so hard to take it in, and i still havent come to terms with losing you. Your memories will always live on in Michelle, Aubrey and your unborn son (baby Spam) and I know you will always be watching down on Michelle, your babies and the whole family and your friends.
RIP Spam WE WILL MEET AGAIN.
All my love your big cuz Pete
